July 19, 2010 Meeting
• The July meeting was held in ‘The Barn’. Thirteen ladies were present to sew for charity.

• Discussion on the Concord Church Quilt Show slated for Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010.

o The group is agreeable with doing this if we can set up a table and sell homemade items.

o Is everyone responsible for making something to sell?

o Monies made would be earmarked for supplies and services not donated towards our projects.
Discussion was held on what to do with the second log cabin quilt.

o Sarah found out that the Ludlow Fire Dept. would be interested in raffling off the quilt to raise funds at their Car Show in Sept.

o Someone will contact the Darke County Humane/Animal Shelter and report at the Aug. meeting.

o Annie volunteered to contact Montgomery County Animal Resource Center.

At the August 16th meeting, sewers are to bring sergers and a walking foot for their sewing machine to quilt the 5” square quilts and make pillowcases with Jody. Materials: ¾ yd for the body of the pillowcase and ¼ yd for the border.

A very popular method of keeping cool in the summer heat.  These ties will be sent to our very deserving military men and women. Charlene Kiser and Phyllis Rose, from Salem Church will be on hand to teach us how to make the ties. Please come and help with this very important project.  Bring you sewing machine, and fabric that you are willing to donate. Be in the barn and set up ready to sew at 6:00 p.m. This should be a fun and productive evening.  Hope to see all of you there.
